Brief description:

SUMMARY OUTLINE Part I: JOINING THE RUSH defines the way we mine our stock market database. The key is to identify ways to understand and use the balance of probability. Understanding is enhanced by better use of bar charts and confirmation of price activity across different time frames. We show a sample trade built using these techniques. Part II: PROSPECTING FOR TRADES brings together an overview of the tools we use for searching and exploring our database for trading opportunities. This includes ways to confirm the trading opportunity using tools drawn from a variety of different indicator and price plot styles. Search formulas are given for Ezy Chart and Metastock. This section includes a new indicator designed to capture and understand a concept of market dynamics. It concludes with a test for trading bias. Part III: SUPPLEMENTARY NUMBERS shows how trading opportunities are financially assessed against hard profit and loss numbers to set achievable trading objectives. We look at user-friendly ways to put a number on the time/risk/reward equation so trading opportunities can be ranked. Then we introduce and evaluate depth of market figures and ways to use them effectively to improve trade execution. We look at the advantages of using the power of derivative leverage based on an equity trigger. We end with ways to read the risk profile for this trading exposure. Part IV: FAILURE IS A HANDMAIDEN TO SUCCESS. Despite everything, we have a habit of shooting ourselves in the foot when we trade. These self inflicted wounds include over-trading, gambling and technically correct stop-loss conditions that are emotionally fatal. We provide check list tests so you can assess, and improve, your trading behaviour.
