The WaveRider system is so named because it catches the very longest and broadest waves in the market. The WaveRider trading system is a reversal system in that a trader generally reverses from long to short and vice-versa. The only exceptions are if a money management stop is hit subsequent to entry or if a profit retention stop is hit during the course of a move. In this event the position is exited and the trader awaits a new signal to enter in the same or opposite direction. The WaveRider system is viewed in its most simple form as an adaptive price channel breakout system with a profit retention-based and a money management stop. It uses the same completely nonoptimized system parameters and either weekly or monthly data to trade across all commodity groups.
