mPower Cafe

Previously known as 401kafe, mPower's website offers investment advice about 401(k)s, IRAs, and other retirement savings vehicles. Site includes frequently asked questions (FAQs), as well as a quiz to help customize individual investment plans. It also includes articles about risk tolerance, retirement goals, and multiple investment accounts.

401(k) Advocate

Tim Younkin started this website to help him understand his own 401(k) plan. 401(k) Advocate provides information about managing 401(k) plans and includes Excel spreadsheets, message boards, and numerous quick links to other retirement savings/investment websites.

ADP Retirement Services

Employer and employee support. Offers recordkeeping, administration, document planning, trustee services, and tax-related services. Also IRA and Safe Harbor Plans. Includes relevant links to the IRS.

American Association of Retired Persons

Retiree advocacy organization provides timely information on retirement planning, investment, and savings. The website also features various financial planning services and volunteer opportunities, as well as information about legislative and judicial issues relevant to seniors and retirees.


In addition to marketing-specific annuities, AnnuityNet provides information about IRAs, Roth conversion, and other retirement savings and investment vehicles. AnnuityNet also includes comparison charts for expenses, an annuities learning center, and listings for CD rates.

This website features a wealth of information about interest rates for a variety of financial products, from credit cards to certificates of deposit and home mortgages. Site also includes how-tos on money management, saving, and investing.


Self-described investment amateurs provide information about IRAs and Roth IRAs, as well as topics such as portfolio theory, compounding, bonds, and the yield curve. Site also includes a glossary of terms.

A site targeted for and designed by women, Financial Muse offers articles and commentary on issues such as financial planning with spouses, remarriage, and so forth. The website also features investment advice and topics such as selling a home and retirement. Other tools include stock quotes and tickers.

A one-stop financial service site, HDVest provides e-filing, tax filing, and financial services from birth to retirement. The website also has a retirement calculator to check up on future value of retirement and amount needed to reach investment/savings goals.

Ingham Group

401(k) and retirement plan services (corporate). Turnkey profit sharing plans, recordkeeping, and government forms. Also offers services in IRAs and rollovers. Clientele includes self-employed individuals.

The company behind the popular Quicken personal financial software features its product line on this website. Tools for banking, investing, loans, insurance, taxes, spending, and saving are included, as are software tools for small businesses.


An online glossary, Investopedia features tutorials and articles about personal finance and investing. A retirement planning dictionary that explains different retirement plans, taxes on retirement, and asset allocation is included on the site.

Investor Guide

Tutorial-based website features articles on IRA, Roth IRA, estate planning, and Social Security. In addition, Investor Guide includes information about disability, retirement income, and updates about privatizing Social Security. The site also links to nonprofit support organizations for the retired.


An "interactive financial manager," OnMoney features information on everything from retirement planning to loans to credit cards, and can be used as an online center for recordkeeping for checking and savings accounts. The site also includes market ratings and quotes.

This investment advisory service provides planning for TSA, 401(k), 403(b), and 457 deferred compensation plans. Info on tax-sheltered annuities and investment strategies is also provided.

The Dollar Stretcher

The Dollar Stretcher is a self-help financial site that features various ways to maximize your buying power and spend less. The site includes a large section on retirement savings.
