Mutual Funds For The Not So Dumb - Eric Tyson
At first glance, Eric Tyson appears to know as much about finance as he does about, well, dummies. After all, in addition to being an award-winning personal finance journalist and guest on programs such as PBS's Night Business Report, CNBC, and NBC's Today show, Tyson is the author of Personal Finance For Dummies, Investing For Dummies, Home Buying For Dummies, Taxes For Dummies, and most recently, Mutual Funds For Dummies. A former management consultant to Fortune 500 financial service firms, Tyson is a successful securities investor with a degree in economics from Yale University and a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University's renowned graduate school of business. Working Money Staff Writer David Penn talked with Tyson on June 7, 2001, via telephone about investing in mutual funds, what makes a great fund portfolio, and what the future of the mutual fund industry holds for the 21st century.
